Indira – Employment Oriented Course (iEOC)

Course Objectives

The sole objective of this course is to provide extensive knowledge about Hardware Assembling and OS Configuration, Which will help the students to use this knowledge for self-employment and to enable learners to develop skills and competencies in computer hardware assembling. This Course will help Students in their day to day life of computer handling and one can also take it as an employment and can be entrepreneur.


i-MUN 2014

Indira Model United Nations Was a two day conference involving a lot of debate, discussions and arguments based on a certain set of extremely sensitive issues occurring around the world which have an active role in deciding the measures to be taken by the United Nations in solving those issues.

The conference took  place on the 25th and 26th of August 2014 and had participation of delegates from colleges all over the country. Each of them represented the views of their allotted country on the topic being discussed at the i-MUN.

Over the years, this platform is growing from two councils in the 1st year to four councils this year.   The United Nations Historical  Security Council, The United Nations Environment Progrmme  ,The United Nations Human Rights council and FIFA attracted the participation from all over India.

The main topics of discussion were issues ranging from LGBT and prostitution rights and laws to The Rwandan Genocide of 1994 and Indira Model United Nations attempts to provide an overview of the raised issues. Affiliated with the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan, the conclusions and suggestions of this conference are taken into accord and sent to UNIC to find a feasible solution for the respective issues.

This conference was highly successful as the conclusions drown will have a positive impact on the coming generations.

Informative session on recruitment Process in Indian Defense Services

To make patriotism as a career, Indira College of Commerce and Science has organized first time an interactive session for TY students with Indian Army Personnel, wherein they gave guided Indiraites regarding recruitment process in Defense Services. Session got overwhelming response from students.

Anveshan 2014

The First student conference is a forum for students to showcase their research acumen, exchange ideas & improve their networking skills. Students are encouraged to write a research paper relevant to the conference theme & the sub themes. The purpose of conference is to provide opportunities for students from an assortment of colleges/institutes/universities to meet & to discuss current research in the field of computer science & applications. The students will get a chance to listen to eminent speakers in the field of computers & get introduced in new themes in computer & also develop inclination towards research.

The welcome address was given by Prof. Janardan Pawar, Dr. Dinesh Katre, Associate Director C-DAC interacted with students on Design of Smartphone and Prof. Atul Kahate interacted on SMAC which is recent trends in Social Media Security and the Main guest for Valedictory function was Dr. Mani who handover the prizes to the best paper award winners.


Indira Student Research Conference : REVELATION 2014

Indira Student Research Conference : REVELATION 2014 was organized on  25TH & 26TH of August 2014 with an aim to provide a National Platform to the students to reveal their hidden talent in the field of research under various themes in Commerce & Management.

It was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of Principal Dr. Anjali Kalkar, Vice-Principal Prof. Janardan Pawar, Registrar Prof. Vijay Rajopadhaye and the Head. of the  Department : BBA & BBM (IB)- Prof Prashant  Kalshetti, the mind & soul behind the convention .

Number of students from various colleges & varied backgrounds explored their intellect & participated in the Convention  covering an array of topics from CSR to Corporate Governance and from Marketing to Business Finance.

The presentations were judjed remarkably by Dr. Kanchan Patil from Indira School of Business Studies. Immense efforts were undertaken by the Conveners Prof. Sonali Shrotri, Prof. Nalanda Wani, Prof. Riya Doshi and Prof. Pratap Patil to organize the convention which saw talented minds at par excellence with a perspicacious approach.

Tech-Savvy 2014

Indira Informatics Technothelon (Tech-Savvy 2014) was organized for second consecutive year at Indira College of Commerce & Science. The event was designed & executed by the students of BCA. The 4-day semi-tech fest started from 30th Jan – 3rd Feb, 2014.


Indira College of Commerce & Science, a prominent component of the Indira Group of Institutes, Pune in collaboration with Indira College of Pharmacy presented Pune’s biggest college youth festival of zeal and enthusiasm for the eighth consecutive year ‘Gusto Plan8 – Justice to Junk‘, an exclusive three days mega happening which unfolded on the 24th, 25th & 26th of February at the college campus.

i-MUN 2013

‘i-MUN 2013’, the Model United Nations Conference organized by Indira College of Commerce and Science, Pune in collaboration with United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan (UNIC) for the second time in the history of India. The event unfolded on the 29th and 30th of August 2013 comprising of three councils namely, the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the fresh council named United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC) in the college campus.

RTCSACM National Conference 2013

Indira College of Commerce and Science, Pune organized a highly successful conference on topic “Recent Trends In Computer Science & Applications & Computational Mathematics” on 20th and 21st December 2013.

The conference was largely attended and highly appreciated. Learned speakers from different parts of the country presented Informative talk on Recent Trends in IT & Computational Mathematics.

The conference was inaugurated on 20th December 2013, by the Chief Guest, Dr. S. H. PAWAR, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. D Y Patil University , Kolhapur. The venue for the glittering inaugural function was the Dhruv Auditorium.

Dignitaries on dais were Dr. S. H. Pawar, Dr. K. V. Kale, Dr. Apurva Desai, Dr. Tarita Shankar, Prof. Janardan Pawar , Prof. Chetan Wakalkar , Dr. Anjali Kalkar.

Debate Competition

Late Shri Shankarrao Wakalkar State level Debating Competition was held on 6th September 2013 on the Topic: Is IPL useful for cricket?

The Competition was held on 6th September 2013 at Dhruv Auditorium.

  • Shri. Makarand Tillu, Marathi Performer, was the chief guest for the Debate Competition.
  • The judges for the competition were Prof. Vishal Bhole and Dr. Sangita Ghodake.
  • Competition was inaugurated by hands of Mr. Makarand Tillu, Smt. Sarita Wakalkar, Dr.Tarita Shankar, Chairperson of  IGI  and  Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, Group Director, IGI
  • In all 61 teams from 27 colleges had participated this year for the competition.
  • Colleges like D.Y.Patil College, Sant Dnyaneshwar College, Nevasa, Y. B. Patil Polytechnic, College of Computer Science, IBMR, Camp Education, PICT, JSPM  Participated in the competition.

Prize distribution was been done in auspicious presence of our beloved ‘Mummy’Smt. Sarita Wakalkar on same day of competition.
