8th State Level Late Shri Shankarrao Wakalkar Debating Competition 16th  September 2014

The Competition was held on 16th  September  2014 at Pharmacy Auditorium.

Subject:

  1. Educational system for social reforms is worth or not
  2. Is it valid to celebrate Valentine Day?
  3. mpact of Western Culture on Indian Society is acceptable or Not
  • Pt. Mukesh Jadhav, Tabla Mestro, was the chief guest for the Debate Competition.
  • The judges for the competition were Prof. Dinesh Chavan and Dr. Suhasini Deshpande.
  • Competition was inaugurated by hands of  Pt. Mukesh Jadhav, Smt. Sarita Wakalkar and Prof. Chetan Wakalkar, Group Director, IGI
  • In all 68 college teams had participated this year for the competition.
  • Colleges like New Arts, Commerce & Science College Ahmednagar, Savitribai Phule University, Maeer’s College, Kaweri, Y. B. Patil Polytechnic, College of Computer Science, IBMR, Camp Education, PICT, SIT, Lonavala  participated in the competition.

Winners of the Competition:

Prize distribution was been done in auspicious presence of Honorable judges Prof. Denesh Chavan and Dr. Suhasini Deshpande, Principal Incharg Dr. Anjali Kalkar, Vice Principal Prof. Janardan Pawar on same day of competition.

  • 2nd Prize: Gurmeet Kaur (St. Meera’s College)
  • 3rd Prize: Arvind Kumar (Sinhgad Institute, Lonavala)
  • 1st Consolation: Chandrani Banergi (MACS, MIT)
  • 2nd Consolation: Sanvidha Pathak  (BMCC)

8th “Late Shri Shankarrao Wakalkar Debate Competition” on 16th September, 2014.

Topics for the Debate Competition are :

  1. “Educational system for social reforms is worth or not?”
  2. “Is it valid to celebrate Valentine Day?”
  3. Impact of Western Culture on Indian Society is acceptable or not?”

The competition aims to create a platform for youngsters to practice leadership, improve soft skills and express their intellectual thinking which provides a stage to interact amongst students from various colleges.
